The Life Aquatic is one of Wes Anderson's least appreciated movies. And while watching it I understood why. Not being a huge fan of Wes Anderson myself, The Life Aquatic follows the story of a father and son, from the first time they meet, and with how their relationship progresses. And from the first scene you can tell it's a Wes Anderson movie. Whether it's the breaking of the rule of thirds, or the 90 degree camera pan, Wes Anderson has his finger prints all over this one. Now while I understand the criticisms of this movie, I disagree that they tarnish this film. The story of this film is told in a very unique way that fits the oddity of the story perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed The Life Aquatic, and while it might not be his best movie, it serves its purpose as a film.
